Letter to the Editor

It's been a little over 3 months since my brother died. As little as I talk about it here or elsewhere, it's always on my mind. My mom has posted a letter to the editor in the local paper, fully disclosing the details of his death. And while I know them all, it makes it hard to see. Not so much because I've been reliving his death this week, but because it makes me sad that this has become my parents' new crusade - a crusade against suicide.

Sigh.

I'm sorry it's all been brought to the surface this week. I know that even though you aren't talking about in on the blog doesn't mean that it isn't with you every step of everyday. I hope that this step makes your parents feel better.

Oh, I'm so sorry you and your family are going through this. Grieving is such a rollercoaster of a process. I'm with Jillian- maybe this will help your parents heal. If there is anything I can do, please let me know. Sending you a big hug in the meantime. Take care.

Sometimes, I think, the grief is so overwhelming that in order to overcome it, a person feels like they have to take action. When my cousin died at age 19, my aunt and uncle became really involved with the volunteer firefighters organizations in a similar way. It may be part of your parents' process.

Seeing something in print must be hard.

I am keeping you in my thoughts, let me know if there is anything you need.
